9to5Mac rumor: ‘iPhone 5’ will have 4-inch display and new body design
In what apparently is the most recent addition to the much warmed-over rumors about the next iPhone iteration - the `iPhone 5' -, a new 9to5Mac report has revealed that the handset will have a 4-inch display and will boast a fresh body design!
While the report essentially brings up the last year rumors yet another time, the likely explanation about the `new design' part is the fact that Apple's contracted factories for the iPhone could apparently not get to build the iPhone 5 design due to physical limitations arising from previous manufacturing equipment. And, as such, they apparently are at it now!
A deeper look at the 9to5Mac rumor further hints at en even murkier possibility --- that there could possibly be multiple competing case designs for the iPhone 5; a likelihood that chiefly amounts to reiterating the much-known fact that "Apple is working on a new iPhone."
Since the iPhone 5 is still a few months in the coming, it can be assumed that the features as well as the design of the handset may possibly undergo a few changes - probably even some eleventh-hour ones - between now and actual release of the device.
Such a possibility only gets stronger against the backdrop of precedence --- with a recent New York Times report having revealed that the iPhone's screen was changed from plastic to glass, by Steve jobs, barely a few weeks before the first version of the smartphone hit the market!
